Meet Employee Spotlight Brett
What’s one thing most people don’t know about you?
I foster dogs. My wife and I are involved in the rescue community and have successfully fostered and re-homed a number of small-sized dogs.
What is your favorite food? Why did you pick this as your favorite?
Appetizer foods or anything fried. Ex: Onion rings, jalapeno poppers, mozzarella sticks, quesadilla, fried mushrooms…. And the list goes on.
What are two of your favorite hobbies?
Running and gardening.
If you could choose any animal to be, what would it be and why?
A bird, so I would be able to fly and travel to new locations.
Knowing what you know now, what advice would you give your younger self?
Enjoy the Blockbuster experience as much as you can, it won’t be around forever.
Do you have any pets? What are their names and what are they like?
Yes. I have a moody chihuahua named Pippa. Her favorite activities include barking at strangers, sunbathing on our porch, walking through the Metroparks, and napping.
What was your favorite vacation?
The Grand Canyon. A few years ago my family and I were able to stay in the Grand Canyon on the Havasupai Reservation. Each day we would hike to a new destination within the canyon and explore different waterfalls and wildlife locations.
What made you want to work where you’re at now?
The healthcare industry has always been an interest of mine. I really enjoy speaking with healthcare professionals and find the right best positions for them.
Before working at your current job, what was the most interesting job you had?
Working on the service team at an HVAC company.
What do you look forward to most when you walk into work?
I look forward to speaking with our clients and caregivers every day.
What is your favorite thing about your job?
Meeting and speaking to new people every day. I always find enjoyment in listening to different perspectives, experiences, and stories from our healthcare professionals.
What’s unique about the culture at your company?
The small size of our business unit allows us to work cohesively with one another. Our small size also allows us to quickly adapt to the ever-changing healthcare industry.
What advice would you give to someone looking for a job right now?
Resiliency is key. Keep your head up and continue to move forward, no matter how many times you get knocked down.
What do you find most rewarding about your job?
The most rewarding aspect of my job is finding the right fit for our candidates. It’s extremely rewarding to know when I have found a placement that benefits our employees and client simultaneously.
What led you to a career in staffing?
The COVID-19 pandemic allowed me to re-evaluate my career path, and understand the needs within the healthcare industry. Healthcare staffing was at the forefront of those needs throughout the pandemic, and will always be a need as we move forward.
What have you gained from working where you’re at?
A new perspective on healthcare services. I’ve previously held positions focusing on healthcare devices and supplies, while this role offered a new lens into the everyday staffing challenges within the industry.
What is your proudest moment at your job?
Completing my first placement! It was extremely exciting to see my hard work pay off.
